Meet the Team

Melissa Warders, PT

Melissa graduated from Bethel University in St. Paul, MN with a degree in Exercise Science in 2000 and then went on to earn her Master of Physical Therapy in 2002 from Wichita State University in Wichita, KS.

Melissa was initially drawn to the field of physical therapy due to her interest in how exercise and movement effects the human body and the impact it has on recovery from injury.  However, over the past two decades, her passion for her work has increasingly come from seeing how profoundly it effects people's lives when they are able to get relief from pain or a physical limitation they have been dealing with so that they can get back to the activities that are important to them.

She strongly believes that individuals should have a dedicated physical therapist in the same way they have primary care physician, dentist, optometrist, or other health care provider they see regularly to maintain and improve their health.  She greatly values the long term relationships she has developed with patients and helping them to stay active and feeling great.

Melissa is specially trained and certified to perform dry needling and Astym in addition to many other physical therapy services.  As a cyclist herself, she particularly enjoys working with other cyclists and endurance athletes to help them recover from injury with a focus on preventing future issues so that they can perform their best.

When she is not working with patients, Melissa enjoys cycling, gardening, and keeping up with her kids' sports and activities.  She loves getting away to the mountains for fun with her family where she enjoys hiking, cycling, cross-country skiing.  She also values her work teaching courses in the Human Performance Department at Butler Community College and investing in student athletes as a NICA coach with Wichita's youth mountain biking team, The Southwind.
